Cities of Literature: Residency Opportunities

Granada and Prague are looking for applications.



Since receiving the title of UNESCO Creative City of Literature, Prague has offered 6 residencies every year for authors. Applications for one of the 6 residencies in 2018 are now open.

The residency covers accommodation, travel costs and provides a scholarship, and is open to residents of UNESCO City of Literature. The first resident was Melbourne author Liam Pieper, and the novel he worked on while at the residency was The Toymaker.

Granada UNESCO City of Literature, in partnership with the University of Granada, is launching a new international Granada Writers in Residence Programme, to foster contacts and forge bonds between writers, to extend the international reach of Granada-based writers, to build international awareness of the cultural fabric of the city of Granada, and to promote Granada as a city of the arts that welcomes talent from abroad with open arms. 

The residency offers a month's stay in Granada for two writers, between 20th October and 20th November 2017. The program is targeted at young and emerging writers with links of some kind to the UCCN member cities.
