Outstanding Women of Scotland

Ten Scottish women from the fields of the arts, culture, politics, activism and science will once again be honoured and inducted into the esteemed Saltire Society Outstanding Women of Scotland community at a special event held at WOW What Now?, Perth on Saturday 5 October 2019.

Celebrating exceptional women from all walks of life since 2014, the Outstanding Women of Scotland campaign celebrates everything Scotland's women have achieved, the huge contribution they make to Scotland's vibrant and diverse cultural life and the inspiration and examples they set for the next generation.  Previous inductees include the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon; singer-songwriter and political activist Annie Lennox; playwright Jo Clifford and Scotland's Makar Jackie Kay.  

The celebration on 5 October will see each inductee presented with a limited edition print, commissioned from an emerging artist from Edinburgh Printmakers and will culminate with a performance by comedian Lubna Kerr.

Nominees must be at least one of the following:

  • Have been born in Scotland
  • Currently Live/work in Scotland
  • Have contributed to Scottish life

Nominations must be received by 12 August 2019.
