Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship 2019
Supported by Creative Scotland, the Scottish Book Trust is
delighted to offer professional writers living in Scotland the
opportunity to apply for the Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship
2019. There are four fellowships available, allowing writers to
enjoy a month-long residency at the Hôtel Chevillon International
Arts Centre at Grez-sur-Loing in France during the months of June,
July, August or November.
Applications for the 2019 fellowship are currently open.
What do the Fellows receive?
Each writer will receive a month's accommodation in a
self-catering studio apartment and a stipend of £1,200. Travel
costs to and from France will also be paid for.
The Fellowship gives writers the time to concentrate on and
develop their work and spend time with other artists while living
and working in a peaceful and inspiring environment.
The Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship 2019 entry
criteria. Applicants must:
- Live in Scotland.
- Be a practicing writer and meet the eligibility criteria for
the Live Literature database.
- Be able to attend on the dates and times specified.
- If you are self-published, please get in touch with

time to do this.
- Students are not eligible for this opportunity.
- You cannot be in receipt of Creative Scotland funding for the
project you plan to work on during the retreat.
- You do not need to be registered on the Live Literature
database to apply, so long as you meet the criteria.
Writers with a substantial track record as a writer outside of
Scotland, but now living and working in Scotland, can apply at the
discretion of Scottish Book Trust. If you have caring/childcare
