Witherby Publishing Group is a specialist publisher of marine training, reference and regulatory material for the shipping industry. 

Responsibilities

The warehouse assistant's role will involve working in a publisher's warehouse and will include, but not be limited to:

  • checking that the correct quantity and type of books have been received from the printer
  • recording any damaged, missing or faulty books
  • order fulfilment and processing
  • shipping book orders, ensuring these are appropriately packed and labelled and stacked for delivery
  • maintaining all relevant data in the warehouse management stock system
  • storing delivered goods safely and logging their arrival
  • relocating and re-stacking goods to make space for new deliveries, under the instruction of the Warehouse Manager
  • ensuring that the warehouse and picking areas are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • observing all Health & Safety standards in line with Company policy

The Warehouse Assistant will report to the Warehouse Manager.

  • Capable of working to tight deadlines
  • Be flexible, hard-working and keen to learn
  • Good time management skills
  • Possess excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Be willing to learn new skills and processes
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Forklift truck experience/a forklift driving licence would be beneficial but is not essential as full training will be given
