The 2016 Saltire Publisher of the Year Awards are now open.
As part of the Saltire Society's 80th anniversary celebrations,
we are delighted announce two new initiatives for this year.
Saltire Society Publisher of the Year
Firstly the prize for the Saltire Society Publisher of the Year
will be the opportunity to have a fully funded place including
flights in the Yale Publishers Course in August next year.
Nominations for this award have been opened up to authors,
booksellers, literary festivals and universities - as well as from

- Deadline for submissions is 4pm, Thursday 8 September 2016
Emerging Publisher of the Year
The second innovation is to award an Emerging Publisher of the
Year Award in partnership with Publishing Scotland and the Society
of Young Publishers Scotland. The Emerging Publisher Award aims to
recognise and encourage the work of an individual in the early
stages of their publishing career, as they develop their skills and
experience in the industry. The awardee will receive a prize of

Established in 2013 and supported by Creative Scotland, the
Saltire Society Publisher of the Year Award is
dedicated to encouraging and supporting the Scottish publishing
industry. Organised by independent charity the Saltire Society as
an integral part of its annual programme of awards and events, the
Award aims to recognise and promote the work of Scottish publishers
as a critical component of Scotland's modern literary
