Book Marketing

We help our members to make their great books more visible to readers, retailers and rights buyers through a variety of projects and initiatives including regular rights catalogues and our online books portal BooksfromScotland.com.

Gill Tasker, our Book Marketing Manager, is the principal contact at Publishing Scotland for our book marketing projects.

New Books from Scotland 2016

Ready in time for the London Book Fair 2016, our New Books from Scotland catalogue features a selection of new fiction, non-fiction and children's books from Scottish publishers.

It also contains a list of all PS publisher members.

Print copies will be available at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2016 and some other events or you can download the PDF version.

BooksfromScotland.com

Our online portal BooksfromScotland.com is a fantastic space for featuring titles and authors with a Scottish connection, and for readers to find them. There's a new issue every month with articles and book extracts and a BooksfromScotland.com newsletter (sign up online).

The Reading Agency

We started our Reading Agency subscription in April 2015.

Reading Partners (RP) is a unique partnership between libraries and publishers, providing publishers with access to libraries and their networks of readers and other partners. It is a commercial contract between the publisher and The Reading Agency (RA), and delivered in partnership with libraries. The RA works with 43 adult and children's publishers. A network of 24 library representatives helps ensure the partnership is beneficial for libraries and their users across the country.

The RA works with all 210 library authorities in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, reaching 4,134 libraries. Libraries offer publishers a platform to creatively market books a wide variety of readers.

The services are offered to Publishing Scotland as consortium coordinator and will be shared among the publishers. They include access to RA's knowledge, contacts and expertise; opportunities to participate in campaigns, events and roadshows; consumer insight reports;  and news updates.
