Communication and collaboration

Publishing Scotland constantly builds on its existing contacts as well as developing new ones as part of its work to support a thriving publishing environment in Scotland. We take part in all the relevant culture (especially literature), trade and skills forums as well as collaborating and liaising with relevant public and commercial bodies on projects and events. The Edinburgh International Book Festival, Creative Skillset and the National Economic Forum are just a few of those we work with.

We share information and ideas through our website, annual conference and other events, public training courses, newsletters and social networking.


Culture

There are obvious and essential links with the literature section in Scotland. At Publishing Scotland, we see our work as complementary to the work on literacy, writer support, literature promotion, and outreach undertaken by other bodies (some of whom are also our members).  We work with:

Publishing is a creative industry and like others in the sector is going through rapid changes in terms of reading habits, formats, and technological change. We work with all the leading bodies to ensure that those based in Scotland have access to the training they need and want.
