Melanie Tortoroli is a Senior Editor at
W.W. Norton where she works with authors across a
range of nonfiction, including history, science, current events,
memoir, travel, and cookbooks. Previously at Viking/Penguin, she
published Colin Dickey, John Hooper, Ian Kershaw, Richard Evans,
Adam Tooze, and Susan Southard, whose Nagaski won the
Dayton Literary Peace Prize and the J. Anthony Lukas Book Prize.
Her publishing career began at W. W. Norton, where she worked with
cookbook authors including Fuchsia Dunlop, Maricel Presilla, and
with Pulitzer-prize winning historian John Dower on Cultures of
War, a finalist for the National Book Award. A graduate of
Harvard University and a New York City native, she cooks as much as
possible and loves visiting new countries.
