After graduating from Edinburgh University Bruce Young joined BBC Scotland as a radio arts and features producer.  He produced the Storyline readings strand on Radio Scotland for a number of years before moving to radio drama in 2000. 

Drama directing credits for Radio 4 include the Victorian detective series, McLevy, as well as dramatisations of many popular and classic books, including Ian Rankin's Rebus novels, Umberto Eco's The Name Of The Rose and Muriel Spark's The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie.
