It’s a busy time for book awards and Canongate Books are reeling in the nominations. The current catch includes:
Indie Book Awards 2022
- Mrs Death Misses Death by Salena Godden (Fiction) and
- The Comfort Book by Matt Haig (Non-fiction).
The winners will be announced on Friday 24 June during Independent Bookshop Week (18–25 June).
The Encore Award 2022
Maxwell’s Demon by Steven Hall is shortlisted for The Royal Society of Literature’s award for second books. The 2022 Encore Award winner will be announced on Thursday 24 May.
Women’s Prize for Fiction 2022
The Book of Form and Emptiness by Ruth Ozeki is one of the shortlisted books. The winner will be announced on 15 June.
CWA 2022 shortlists
There are two books on the shortlists: A Corruption of Blood by Ambrose Parry (Historical Dagger) and The Unusual Suspect by Ben Machell (ALCS Gold Dagger for Non-Fiction). The Dagger awards ceremony will be held in London on 29 June.
Jhalak Prize 2022
Things I Have Withheld by Kei Miller is one of the six shortlisted books. We’ll find out the winner on 26 May.
