Congratulations to members Gill Heeley, Heather McDaid, and Laura Jones, who are all named as Rising Stars 2022.
Gill is Senior Designer at Canongate Books where her work includes Mrs Death Misses Death by Salena Godden, The Dark Remains by William McIlvanney and Ian Rankin, and The Book of Form and Emptiness by Ruth Ozeki.
Heather and Laura are the founders of multi-award winning publisher 404 Ink. Heather also works part-time at Publishing Scotland. Laura is on the Publishing Scotland Board and its new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
The Bookseller’s Rising Stars is an annual list of the book industry’s up and comers. The Bookseller says that the stars of 2022 show ‘a determined, DIY ethos, often working to advance the trade as a whole rather than for individual gain’.
