Inklusion Guide launched

The Inklusion Guide was launched at an event at the Edinburgh International Book Festival on 25 August 2022. The event – Celebrating Inclusion – is available to watch online until Sunday 28 August.

The Guide is an accessible and comprehensive access guide for UK literary sector organisations to use when planning events to make them accessible for disabled people. It summarises best-practice accessibility across hybrid, online and in-person events and is currently available as webpages on the Inklusion website. A free limited-run A4 printed booklet and downloadable PDF are scheduled for September. BSL video and audio recording, Easy Read, and Braille versions will follow.

Inklusion was co-founded by poet and author Julie Farrell and author Ever Dundas. With wider access to events during the pandemic, it was clear that access for disabled people was possible. The Guide is one of the ways of ensuring that accessibility continues and expands.
