About the course
Part of Publishing Scotland’s Sales Bootcamp Programme
Confident speaking and presenting skills and the ability to pitch persuasively are essential for colleagues in all departments. From booksellers to board members, there’s an audience for each of us. Whilst each audience might appear different, what unites them is that they all have a problem that we have the power to solve.
This workshop gives participants the skills they need to pitch and present confidently in any business situation. We’ll introduce proven techniques and an easy framework that everyone can use straight away.
Key learning outcomes
- Get the business results you need through pitching and presenting with confidence
- Reframe thinking around self-doubt
- Harness the power of storytelling for greater impact
- Take away an easy framework for speaking that can be applied straight away
Session 1 – Putting the framework in place
This session introduces the skills and the framework we all need to pitch and present with confidence in any situation.
Topics covered include:
- Mindset and re-framing our anxieties
- Focusing on our audience’s needs
- Compelling storytelling for business success (including story structure and call to action)
- Delivery (including body language, pace and rhythm)
Session 2 – The Pitch
The second session is designed to be a highly interactive and practical session, essential to putting in place the skills of the framework.
Each participant will have prepared a short pitch/ presentation in advance, which they will share. We will then explore ways to add ‘flavour’ and enhance our presentations.
