Book Week Scotland: Publishing Scotland Non-fiction Showcase

18 November 2021

When: Available to watch from 12:30 on Thursday 18 November 2021

Where: YouTube

Publishing Scotland is delighted to present a digital showcase of fantastic authors and their non-fiction works, including some excellent debuts. Enjoy a fascinating breadth of non-fiction - from memoir to pop culture to nature writing - that just may show you how to look at the world anew.

Our spotlight will shine on:

  • Arusa Qureshi (404 Ink), whose Flip the Script celebrates the women of UK hip hop,
  • poet Nina Mingya Powles (Canongate), whose non-fiction debut Small Bodies of Water won the inaugural Nan Shepherd Prize for nature writing,
  • Linda Gask  (Sandstone Press), author of  Finding True North, a memoir about recovery and place,
  • Natalie Whittle's  The 15-Minute City (Luath Press), which looks at how cities can get better by getting smaller, and
  • Great British Bake Off winner Peter Sawkins, taking readers into the baking delights of his first ever book, Peter Bakes (Black & White Publishing).

Each author will share a reading from their work, and answer some questions, all viewable on Youtube.

This is a digital event as part of Book Week Scotland 2021.

This event is available to watch on YouTube until the end of 2021.
