Judging A Book By Its Cover

14 August 2012

Publishing Scotland's event at this year's Edinburgh International Book Festival featured leading book jacket designers Jon Gray and Jamie Keenan who ran through 'The Twenty Irrefutable Theories of Book Cover Design' that they've developed. They discussed how great design sells books and how our connection to a book goes beyond the words - all illustrated by some of the many great covers they've designed.

If you didn't manage along, or you were there and want a reminder, the Guardian's blog of 16 August has a summary: see Jen Bowden's post Scent of a kitten: the 20 irrefutable theories of book cover design.

You can see the designers' work at Keenan Design and gray318 at the Book Archive.
