We established a new Publishing Fellowship
Programme in 2015.
The application process for the
2016 programme will begin in December 2015. We'll post details here
and publicise it on Twitter, Facebook etc.
For this year's inaugural programme, eight international
publishers were invited to come to Scotland for a week in August to
meet Scottish publishers and agents - and visit the world-class
Edinburgh International Book Festival (see PDF
They were chosen by our steering committee based upon their
standing in the publishing community and their previous interest
and links with the industry here.
The Programme took place from Monday 24 to Sunday 30 August
2015, to coincide with the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
The eight Fellows visited publishing houses and agents, saw market
presentations, attended match-making events and dinners, and many
more networking opportunities in Edinburgh, Glasgow and the
Highlands over the week. There were opportunities to see a bit of
the country and to spend time at the wonderful Book Festival. Get a
taste of the programme on #PSfellowship.
The Fellowship has been made possible by the generous
sponsorship of Creative Scotland (the national development agency
for the arts, screen and creative industries), Scottish Development
International (the international arm of Scotland's development
agencies), Emergents, and Publishing Scotland, the development body
for the book publishing sector, for the purpose of facilitating
exchange between international publishers and the publishing sector
