XPONorth, Scotland's Leading Creative Industries Festival, is taking place in July with several sessions of particular interest to publishers on its programme.

Day 1 hosts a session called Lifestyle Choices - a look at creating beautiful illustrated non-fiction. Members Emily Dewhurst of Kitchen Press and literary agent Jenny Brown are taking part in this.

Day 2 has several events of note, including: Page to Screen, the impact of screen on booksales, Influential Women in Publishing (featuring Publishing Scotland's CEO Marion Sinclair and Jenny Brown) and Narrative non-fiction, what's selling now (with Profile MD Andrew Franklin, Angie Crawford of Waterstones and Jenny Brown).


Lifestyle Choices Non-fiction : Creating Beautiful Illustrated Non-fiction (Wednesday 3 July)

Times: 11:15am - 12:30pm
Venue: Studio 2 (2nd Floor), Eden Court
Speakers: Emily Dewhurst of Kitchen Press and Kate Davies of KDD chaired by Jenny Brown

Join two creators of beautifully illustrated books as they discuss the market for lifestyle non-fiction with Jenny Brown, and talk about the pros and cons of conventional and independent publishing models. 


Page to Screen: Impact of Screen on Booksales (Thursday 4 July)

Times: 1:00pm - 2:15pm
Venue: La Scala Cinema, Eden Court
Speakers: Annie Stone - International Account Manager, Bookbub and Chair Jessica Fox -XpoNorth

Annie Stone leads BookBub's publisher relations group, working closely with partners across the US, Canada, UK and Australia. The company helps more than 15 million readers internationally discover new titles and authors whilst facilitating thousands of publishers and authors to reach those audiences with their books. Before joining BookBub, Annie was an editor at HarperCollins.


Influential Women in Publishing (Thursday 4 July)

Narrative Non-fiction: What's Selling Now? (Thursday 4 July)

We are living in an age of non-fiction. What are publishers looking for in good nonfiction, and what is selling in the shops?  And what are the titles booksellers would like to see on the shelves?
