How to pitch books

We are running a year-round programme and are always on the look out for new books to feature and showcase within Publishing Scotland’s Year of Stories. Though much of the output aims to spotlight books and publishers within the Publishing Scotland membership, we have many strands that showcases books with a Scottish connection, and work closely with Books from Scotland.

What are we looking for?

If you’re a Publishing Scotland member or publisher based in Scotland, we’re keen to hear about your upcoming 2022 list. Please send AIs and catalogues, or any information you have to hand about what you are releasing.

If you’re not a publisher based in Scotland, We’re keen to hear about any books coming out across 2022 with a Scottish connection – that can via the author or the book itself. We’re not rigid on what these ties to Scotland look like – if you think it fits, we’d like to hear about it.

What does the year look like?

The Year of Stories will host a year-round calendar of online content alongside our events, including new editorial strands in partnership with Books from Scotland, features, interviews, book recommendations and more, each putting Scotland’s stories at the heart. We are also guided by our monthly themes, which will shape much of our output, though we are happy to hear about any and all new Scottish work.

Please send pitches to Year of Stories Coordinator Heather McDaid at heather.mcdaid@publishingscotland.org.
