Creative Edinburgh: Board Members

Creative Edinburgh is a growing network of thousands of people working in the creative industries in Edinburgh. An opportunity has arisen to join its Board and help Edinburgh's dynamic creative sector to flourish.

What does the Board of Directors do?

The Board is responsible for setting the organisation's strategy and supporting our Executive Director Ola Wojtkiewicz and team to deliver it effectively. Apart from Ola all members are volunteers and bring their own life and professional experience to the role.

The Board meets at least five times a year to review progress, and we also ask members to be involved in at least one of our working groups, contributing insight and experience to help the Creative Edinburgh team to solve specific challenges they face. Our Board members are also invited to our annual strategy planning days with the Creative Edinburgh team and their Steering Committee.

Who are we looking for?

Creative Edinburgh's 5,000 plus members are a diverse bunch across the creative industries and it's important to us that we have a similar diversity of voice and experience on our Board.

You'll have:

  • some experience of working in any of the creative industries (but that includes early career applicants)
  • an understanding of the challenges facing our sector in Edinburgh
  • an interest to help your peers.

You probably won't have experience on a Board. That's an advantage - we have plenty of people with board experience already who will be happy to support you. You might not think that this opportunity is aimed at people like you. That's not the case if you meet the three criteria above.

Deadline for applications is Wednesday 15 December 2021 at 17.00.

Interview are currently scheduled to take place on the week of 10 January 2022.
