FLB: Diary Production Editor

FLB Group (Filofax, Letts, Blueline) are one of the world's largest innovators and manufacturers of quality stationery and lifestyle accessories, with operations on three continents and distributors worldwide.

We are looking for a dynamic, hard-working Diary Production Editor to ensure that all Editorial Department goals and deadlines are achieved, on time and with zero-defects in our finished products. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Proofread using industry standard proofreading marks using both paper and screen reading methods
  • Check Blueprints from our outsourced manufacturers as and when required;
  • Provide copy for and updating designated jobs;
  • Ensure electronic job bags are maintained and contain all relevant materials;
  • Obtain up-to-date information and specifications from appropriate external departments as required;
  • Coordinate instructions and copy with outside source e.g. freelance readers, co-publishers and internal and external customers as required;
  • Gather accurate up-to-date information, using efficient research and file processing techniques;
  • Maintain our Q++ Editorial Database including rolling over edition years;
  • Maintain Special Notes lists, including maintaining or arranging for creation of new Macros as required;
  • Maintain Pagination Details within Editorial records for all jobs;
  • Complete Department Quality Checklists;
  • Carry out Imposition Quality Checks as and when required;
  • Deal with enquiries from the public as they arise;
  • Monitor current affairs to ensure future products contains up-to-date and relevant information;
  • Arrange for Purchase Orders to be raised to source external information or data;
  • Ensure copy and passed for press deadlines are met;
  • Collect and collate any relevant information for consideration in the next two diary edition years;
  • Sign-off proofs if required to do so (in the absence of a Senior Editor)


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to evaluate specifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work independently within set parameters
  • Ability to adapt quickly and with varying work and time sensitive demands
  • Enjoy working in a small team environment
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisational ability


Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £18,000 - £24,000 per annum
