Alasdair Gray

Renowned author and artist Alasdair Gray died on 29 December 2019 at the age of 85. The previous month he had received the inaugural Saltire Society Scottish Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Scottish literature.

He was the author of many works including: Lanark, 1982, Janine, A Life in Pictures and most recently interpretaions of Dante's Hell and Purgatory. For some examples of his art, see the National Galleries of Scotland website, the Oran Mor website and of course the Alasdair Gray website.
