Nicola Ramsey appointed as Interim CEO at EUP
10 March 2021
Edinburgh University Press (EUP) has announced
the appointment of Nicola Ramsey as Interim CEO to
succeed Timothy Wright, who retires this summer.
She will take up her position on 2nd June 2021.
Head of Books Editorial at EUP since 2012, Nicola has led the
strong growth of book publishing at Scotland's principal academic
imprint. Nicola is a member of the UUK Open Access monographs
working group, and sits on the EUP Board of Management.
Margaret Hewinson, Chair of EUP, said: 'We are delighted that
Nicola Ramsey is stepping up into this position to drive forward
the business for the next 18 months alongside the executive
management team. In this challenging working environment it is
crucial that we have a CEO who has a detailed understanding of the
business and significant knowledge of the issues affecting
scholarly publishing.'
Nicola said 'I am delighted to have this opportunity to lead the
business through change over the next 18 months, at a time when
scholarly publishing requires innovation and creativity to continue
to serve the academic community in new ways. I am looking
forward to working with the management team, the trustees and
non-executive directors of EUP to deliver this, and to enrich our
relationship as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the University of
Edinburgh.'
A new Head of Books Editorial will be recruited to replace
Nicola in her current role.
