Programme for Government 2020 to 2021

3 September 2020

The Programme for Government sets out the actions the Scottish Government will take in the coming year and beyond. It includes the legislative programme for the next parliamentary year.

In her introduction to the Programme, the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says that suppressing the Covid-19 virus is the key objective for this government in the coming months, but at the same time they must also look to the future - to think about how they can help Scotland's people, businesses and communities rebound from this pandemic. The First Minister goes on to say that central to economic recovery is a new national mission to help create new jobs, good jobs and green jobs. Underpinning that will be a clear focus on driving digital innovation and they will also tackle digital exclusion.

The full programme is set out on the Scottish Government website: see Protecting Scotland, Renewing Scotland: The Government's Programme for Scotland 2020-2021 (published 1 September 2020).
