Scotland and Brexit

The UK’s withdrawal from the European Union (Brexit) has had implications for all businesses, publishers included. Free movement of people, trading conditions, exports, copyright and selling rights and sub-licences to titles are affected. Here we round up some of the Scottish resources to help your Scottish-based business negotiate the new landscape.

The Scottish Government

The Scottish Government has a dedicated area on its website with a range of information including EU citizens in Scotland, Scottish businesses and the EU, and Culture and Creative Sectors after Brexit. See Brexit on the Scottish Government website.

Scottish Enterprise

In Operating after Brexit, you can find information on the changing requirements for dealing with EU and the processes you need to have in place to continue your relationship with member states. Topics covered include Exporting to and importing from the EU and Northern Ireland.

The latest information includes changes in trade with the EU from January 2022.

Scottish Parliament

The Post-Brexit Hub contains policy and other framework documents.

Creative Scotland

Creative Scotland is the public body that supports the arts, screen and creative industries across all parts of Scotland on behalf of everyone who lives, works or visits here. It has a page of useful links on the EU Exit.
