Established in 2016, Biblichor provides typesetting and design services to independent publishers, academic institutions and heritage bodies.
We produce many fiction, non-fiction, verse, text-book and academic titles. Our particular expertise is in design-led and image-heavy projects and we are experienced working in foreign languages including Gaelic, Russian, Japanese and the languages of China, Oceania and the Middle-East.
Our other services include the creation of facsimile content for out-of-print analogue titles, eBook/epub, open source, reprographic, art-working and data entry/conversion. We can offer cost-saving advice on unusual or complex projects and we’re happy to tackle messy, fragmented or heavily copy-edited manuscripts.
Titles which give a good example of our work include Native and Roman on the Northern Frontier (Society of Antiquaries), Purgatory and The Story of Looking (Canongate Books), Poets of the Chinese Revolution (Verso), the Muriel Spark Centenary Editions (Polygon), 101 Problems and Solutions in Historical Linguistics (EUP) and If I Survive: Frederick Douglass and Family in the Walter O. Evans Collection (EUP).
Clients include: Birlinn, Canongate Books, Dunedin Academic Press, Edinburgh University Press, John Donald, Polygon, Sandstone Press, Society of Antiquaries, Thi Wurd, University of Wales Press and Verso.
