Following ten years of the Donald Meek Award, established in 2010 with
financial assistance from Creative Scotland and Bòrd na Gàidhlig,
the Gaelic Literature Awards reflect the evolution of Gaelic
publishing during that period. Launched in 2020, the Awards aim to
reward excellence in Gaelic writing and publishing across a range
of genres.
Prizes are awarded in six categories:
Best Fiction Book (Highland Society of London Prize)
Best Poetry Book (Derick Thomson Prize)
Best Non-fiction Book (Donald Meek Prize)
Best Book for Children/Young People
Best Unpublished Manuscript for Children/Young People
Best Unpublished Manuscript for Adults
