Andrea Stratilova
Andrea entered the publishing industry in 2002. After nine
years' experience in acquiring children´s and YA titles for
Fragment Publishing House Andrea moved to fiction and non-fiction
books for adults and landed at Albatros Media.
On children´s and YA side she discovered and acquired Czech and
Slovak rights to such bestselling authors likeChristopher
Paoliniand hisEragon series,Suzanne Collin´s Hunger Games, one of
the first books in popular dystopian genre for YA,Rick Riordan´s
Percy Jacksonseries or relaunched the classic seriesThe Chronicles
of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.
Moving to books for adults has been a big challenge for her.
Albatros Media is the largest Publisher in the Czech Republic
with 16 different imprints and Andrea looks for the great books for
all imprints publishing adult´s literature. This requires a great
overview of books and authors in many genres fitting to different
imprints. She is focused at commercial thrillers, women´s fiction
as well as literary novels or interesting and unique popular
non-fiction. Since her previous involving at children´s literature
she still likes keeping an eye on MG and YA titles.
She acquired the Czech rights to bestsellers likeThe Tattooist

AJ Finn,The Silent Patientby Alex Michaelides or Tattoo Thiefby
Alison Belsham, on non-fiction side she was happy to buy the rights
toThe Gospels of Eelsby Patrik Svensson from Sweden.
Her favourite literary novel isBefore the Coffee Gets
Coldwritten by Japanese author Toshikazu Kawaguchi, a huge
bestseller in Japan.
When she doesn´t read manuscripts or books, she likes salsa
dancing, hiking, swimming - sport in general.
