Nicolás Rodríguez Galvis
Nicolás Rodríguez Galvis is an editor at Editions Métailié, in
France, a 40-year-old publishing house with a list that could be
resumed by the following motto: "Books to live passionately".
Before this, Nicolás worked as a rights manager at Editions
Gallimard, as a translator (of authors like Guillaume Apollinaire,
Denis Diderot, Jacques Vaché, and Oliver Sacks), and as an amateur
yet willing Thursday-night football player.
As an acquisitions editor at Métailié, Nicolás mainly focuses on
foreign literary fiction, narrative non-fiction, and thrillers. He
has recently acquired works from Camila Sosa Villada (Argentina)
and Al Alvarez (England). Some of the authors published by Métailié
in the last years include Selva Almada (Argentina), Horacio
Castellanos Moya (El Salvador), Mia Couto (Mozambique), Anna
Seghers (Germany), Arnaldur Indridason (Iceland), Leonardo Padura
(Cuba), and Scottish authors like Alasdair Gray, James Kelman, John
Burnside, Louise Welsh, Chris Brookmyre, and Jenni Fagan.
