Scottish Books International

Scottish Books International is a new service on behalf of the literature sector in Scotland, dedicated to the international promotion of books, writers, festivals and organisations.

Following a period of scoping and research, Scottish Books International will take a strategic and co-ordinated approach to showcasing and championing Scotland's writers, publishers and festivals overseas. The service will develop a strategic plan for international activity, identifying and progressing opportunities for increased visibility for writers, publishers, festivals and organisations; identifying potential income sources, and building relationships with key partners in Scotland and overseas.

Scottish Books International is a partnership service set up by Publishing Scotland and the Edinburgh International Book Festival in conjunction with Creative Scotland.

Author International Travel Fund

In the light of recent event cancellations and travel restrictions in Europe, the US and elsewhere, we have regretfully taken the decision to suspend the Author International Travel Fund from 16/3/20 until the end of April when we review the situation. We are sorry to have taken this step but given current conditions, the precaution is needed. Please contact us on to discuss travel plans in the second half of the year.

This new fund was launched by SBI to support Scottish writers wishing to travel overseas to promote their work.
